Peppol eInvoicing
Receive Peppol eInvoices straight into the same AP workflow as every PDF and email invoice. RapidP2P validates, matches, approves and posts each one to your ERP as data, so eInvoicing turns into faster, safer payments, not another inbox.

Why Peppol, why now
Governments across Australia, New Zealand and beyond are making eInvoicing the default. Every eInvoice that lands as data is an invoice your team never has to key.

All VAT invoices electronic
Business and government VAT invoices must be eInvoices, with Peppol named as the core network.
Australian businesses aren’t required to send eInvoices to each other. Commonwealth entities currently pay eInvoices within 5 calendar days under the Supplier Pay On-Time or Pay Interest policy; from 1 January 2027 the term becomes 10 business days for all invoices.
Many “Peppol-ready” set-ups turn the eInvoice straight back into a PDF, then read it with OCR or push it to an inbox. You pay for the network and lose the data. The ATO’s eInvoicing guidance tells Commonwealth agencies to replace exactly these interim tools. Your AP process should treat an eInvoice as data from the moment it arrives.

How it works
Peppol carries the invoice securely between accredited access points, routed by the supplier’s ABN. It doesn’t check the PO, apply your delegations or post to your ERP. That’s the job RapidP2P does.

Inside stop 4
A Peppol invoice can be perfectly formatted and still be wrong: a duplicate, a price that doesn’t match the PO, or bank details that don’t belong to the supplier. RapidP2P runs the same four checks on every eInvoice that it runs on every PDF, without anyone keying a field.
Clean eInvoices go straight to ready-to-pay. Your team only sees the exceptions.
1
The supplier is active in your vendor master, the ABN is current, GST registration matches what’s charged, and the invoice isn’t a duplicate of one already received by any channel.
CATCHES duplicates · deregistered suppliers · GST from unregistered vendors
2
Line items are matched two-way to the purchase order, or three-way to the PO and goods receipt, with your tolerances applied. Variances go to the right person with the difference highlighted.
CATCHES over-billing · price and quantity variances
3
Peppol takes email out of delivery. But if a supplier’s own system is compromised, the wrong account can still arrive in a perfectly valid eInvoice. RapidP2P compares bank details with your supplier master and holds any mismatch.
About Bank Verification →CATCHES payment redirection through a trusted channel
4
Approvals follow your delegation of authority, across entities and cost centres. RapidP2P then posts complete, validated data to your ERP, with every check and decision on one audit trail.
CATCHES unauthorised spend · rekeying errors · audit gaps

What is Peppol?
Peppol is a secure international network for exchanging invoices and other business documents as structured data, between accredited access points. It's the standard behind e-invoicing in Australia, where the ATO is the Peppol Authority, and in New Zealand, where MBIE is. Instead of a PDF by email, the invoice lands in your system as data, ready to process.
Is Efficiency Leaders a Peppol access point?
RapidP2P connects to Peppol through our ATO-accredited access point partner, so you don’t need to find, contract and integrate a separate provider. We set it up as part of your rollout.
Do our suppliers need to join a portal?
No. Suppliers send from their own accounting or ERP software through their own Peppol provider. Many small-business accounting platforms include Peppol sending.
What is PINT A-NZ?
PINT A-NZ is the current Peppol invoice format for Australia and New Zealand. It became the required format in May 2025, replacing the older A-NZ BIS Billing format. RapidP2P receives PINT A-NZ invoices.
Is Peppol fraud-proof?
No, but it’s much safer than email. Only accredited access points can exchange documents, and senders are identified by their ABN. A compromised supplier system can still send wrong bank details, which is why RapidP2P checks them on every invoice.
Do we still need invoice capture?
Yes, for suppliers who still send PDFs or paper. RapidP2P handles both in one workflow, so you don’t pay for a capture product and a Peppol product side by side.
Our ERP says it supports Peppol. Why do we need this?
Receiving an eInvoice is the first step. You still need to validate it, match it to the PO and receipt, route approvals and catch exceptions. Some ERPs also need a separate access point and capture for non-Peppol invoices. RapidP2P does all of it in front of your ERP.
We’re a government agency. Does this help with eInvoicing by default?
Yes. RapidP2P receives eInvoices as data and processes them automatically, which is what government eInvoicing-by-default policies ask agencies to do. The exact rules and dates differ by country: see our Peppol eInvoicing guide for Australia or our page on accounts payable automation in New Zealand. Talk to us about sending eInvoices too.
How long does it take to go live?
Typical onboarding is 4–6 weeks, depending on your ERP and the modules you choose.
PEPPOL PROVIDER SCORECARD
Five questions to ask before you sign
☐ Does an eInvoice reach our AP workflow as data, or is it converted to a PDF or email?
☐ Are you on the ATO’s accredited provider register, and do you support PINT A-NZ?
☐ Will you return delivery status for every eInvoice from April 2027?
☐ How do you verify senders, and are you ISO 27001 certified, as Peppol providers must be by October 2027?
☐ Are bank details on every eInvoice checked against our supplier master before we pay?
Not sure how your provider scores? In 30 minutes we’ll map how invoices reach you today, how many suppliers could send Peppol now, and what changes for your team.
Features, integrations and outcomes described on this page depend on your RapidP2P licensing, modules, ERP and end-product configuration, and may vary between customers. Peppol connectivity is provided through an ATO-accredited access point partner and may be subject to separate terms. Government policies, dates and statistics are summarised from public sources as at October 2026 and may change. Cost estimates are third-party averages, not a guarantee of outcomes. Customer results reflect that customer’s circumstances.
